Upgraded Safety Precautions on the Marin Airporter

How Our New Procedures Help Protect You During the Pandemic

Throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, Marin Airporter has maintained its service for those for whom travel is essential.

Safety has always been our first priority. As we continue to operate throughout the pandemic, we do everything we can to minimize the risk for all travelers.

Because of the coronavirus, as detailed below, we have continually added new safety measures and upgraded our disinfection practices. Now, because these procedures are so thorough, we feel that we offer a travel environment that is much cleaner than less professionally maintained transportation services.

With restrictions around the country and around the world beginning to lift, people are starting to travel more, and we want our customers to know that we have the following important new safety-related measures in place:

  • – As part of our daily procedures, we perform a general disinfectant fogging, as well as specific disinfection of high-touch areas.
  • – We have ensured that all of our staff have access to gloves, masks, disinfectants, and hand-washing facilities.
  • – Per CDC guidelines, face masks are now optional but encouraged for your safety.

Our buses are currently running on an hourly schedule and we will maintain the hourly schedule until such time as passenger numbers warrant a more frequent service. You can find always find our complete schedule HERE. Please call us between 4:00 am and midnight, seven days a week, at (415) 461-4222, for further information.

Your safety will always be our highest priority; and, when the time is right for you to travel, we look forward to welcoming you on board. Please let us know if we can do anything to make your journey more comfortable and relaxing.

Airport Parking in Marin County!

Years ago, a national bus line used the tagline, “Leave the driving to us.” It was an attempt to attract customers who might otherwise take their own car on vacation or business trip.

Cheaper air travel killed that campaign.

Getting to SFO Can Be Expensive

But driving is still part of the travel experience for most people, even when flying.

When you go to SFO from Marin, the cost of driving to the airport and using long term parking may cost more than you realize. Long-term parking at SFO now costs $18 a day. And if you use a nearby hotel with an airport shuttle service, you’re still looking at $9 a day. Coming from Marin, you have to add bridge toll-another $8.25-plus gas. It all adds up! And on top of that, you can put Car Covers on your vehicle to protect it from dents, scratches, dings, and harsh weather while you are away from the city.

We’ve got a better alternative: Leave the driving to Marin Airporter.

Airport Parking is Much Cheaper at Our Hubs

The Marin Airporter is a more economical way to get to SFO without the use of any cabs, Ubers, or shuttles. Parking at our Hamilton hub in Novato is just $6 a day. At our Andersen hub in San Rafael, it’s just $8. And you can forget about the Golden Gate Bridge toll and gas expenses. Instead, you can put your feet up and enjoy the scenery, catch up on some work, do some reading, or just relax. Also, we can provide modern security measures like alarms, CCTV cameras, etc., to ensure your vehicle’s security. Our alarm system might sense motion and also administer card entries. The system could be somewhat similar to Verisure Alarms, or other security products.

More Convenience

Our parking lots are exclusively for Marin Airporter bus customers, so you won’t have to compete with other travelers for space as you would at SFO.

Why not start your journey in a relaxed mode and save money simultaneously?

Enjoy Marin Airporter on your next trip to SFO. And yes, “Leave the driving to us!”

Marin Airporter Expands Northern Marin Service

Good news! Marin Airporter has opened a brand new stop at Smith Ranch Road/Terra Linda. The new stop will replace service at the Central San Rafael Transit Center, which has been discontinued.

We are happy to report that thousands of Northern Marin County travelers will now find it easier to get to and from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) due to our expanded Northern Marin pick-up schedule.

We have added a new stop next to the Smith Ranch Road, just east of Highway 101 in Terra Linda, San Rafael. Riders from Terra Linda, Lucas Valley, Marinwood, and surrounding neighborhoods can now enjoy this more convenient pick-up location. And, like the entire Marin Airporter system, the new Smith Ranch Road Park & Ride stop will be serviced every 30 minutes.

Full service to-and-from SFO continues via all other Marin Airporter bus stops on existing schedules-apart from the Central San Rafael Transit Center where we have discontinued service due to heavy traffic congestion.

Complete details of the schedule as well as the specifics of each stop’s location are available on this website, MarinAirporter.com.

After Oct. 6th, Central San Rafael Transit Center Will No Longer Be an Airporter Bus Stop

Important Announcement:

As you may be aware, there has been severe congestion around the Central San Rafael Transit Center resulting in delays for our Marin Airporter services and inconvenience for you, our passengers.

As a result and in order to make way for some new expanded services that are “coming soon,” we are discontinuing service to and from the Central San Rafael Transit Center as of October 6, 2019.

For your convenience, the nearest alternative stop is the Marin Airporter Terminal at 1081 Andersen Drive in San Rafael. We recommend that stop because it includes far more convenient long term parking as well as Airporter bus services that leave for SFO EVERY HALF HOUR at ten minutes before the hour and twenty minutes after the hour throughout our service day.

In addition, we continue to provide a full service to and from SFO via ALL of our other Marin Airporter bus stops.

Other Good News on the Way!

We will soon be announcing expanded services to and from Northern Marin County as well as a new San Rafael stop. Stay tuned for further details and we will keep you all posted on our updated routes.

Please call us at (415) 461-4222 with any questions.

We continue to appreciate being at your most comfortable and environmentally-friendly airport transportation between Marin and SFO.

Top 5 Reasons to Ride Marin Airporter

When traveling to and from San Francisco Airport (SFO) and Marin County, there are many options. For example, you can drive yourself and park, use ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft, or a traditional taxi. But the Marin Airporter bus has its own set of unique advantages. Take into consideration things like high airport parking costs, safety and the “hazards” of unprofessional, talkative drivers that are all risks you take when you ride with less reliable sources.

Here are the “Top 5 Reasons” why riding with Marin Airporter is your best option when you need to get to and from San Francisco International Airport & Marin County:

  1. Less Expensive and More Consistent – Marin Airporter ticket prices ($30.00 at all stops, $31.00 when paying electronically) are the same price every day, 365 days a year. No inflated costs if you’re traveling on a busy holiday weekend! Uber and Lyft may offer discounted ride sharing prices, but when traveling with luggage, those rides are not always available. Marin Airporter has a straightforward schedule. It is designed for your luggage, your wallet, and your schedule, all inclusive, all the time.
  2. Comfortable – Don’t get stuck in someone’s backseat or sitting low in a small car. Marin Airporter seats are big, roomy and way more comfortable than a car. They have plenty of room for your legs, and even give you enough space to work on a computer during your ride. Our floors are hardwood and clean.
  3. Increase Your Productivity – Marin Airporter buses are designed for the modern business traveler. As mentioned above, each seat is large enough to do work on a laptop or tablet. Keep your carry-on with you, just as you would on an airplane and take advantage of the overhead lights,. Most of the buses have a device charging outlet right at your seat. On the Airporter, you can work while traveling without draining your battery.
  4. Environmentally Friendly – The bus is the ultimate ride sharing option. By using the bus, we are taking close to 60 cars off the road with each trip. By using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi, you are adding to the number of cars on the road, and that just makes traffic worse. And, of course, the buses use the bus lane. By riding with us, you are making a difference for the planet and for your fellow travelers.
  5. Feel Confident & Safe – While many ride sharing companies leave it up to the individual drivers to handle things like insurance and passenger safety, Marin Airporter is a professional transportation company. Safety is our top concern. All of our drivers are licensed professions, who go through specialized training for safety and bus driving skills – no one who has seen a dui attorney Springfield il has to offer will be driving the coach, that’s for sure (unless they were cleared). We also do background checks, drug and alcohol screening, and all of this is backed up by California Highway Patrol and Federal Motor Carrier safety admin testing. (Tip: For an additional view of how these tests work, you can refer to how drug testing in Geneva, IL is done.)

As a final note, we hope you can always feel safe and confident while riding the Marin Airporter.
